UK ports are moving on shore power at very different speeds. Some already have power at the berth and are working out how to handle the cable; others are still costing the grid connection. At either stage the questions worth asking are practical ones: how a connection holds up under daily use, what it takes to serve more than one berth, and how much the crew has to do to make it work.
