Marine Log’s FERRIES conference returns to Seattle for its 39th year, 10 and 11 November.
The US ferry fleet is in the middle of its largest renewal in decades, and much of the new tonnage is hybrid or fully electric. That moves the hard problem from the vessel to the berth: who builds the charging connection, who operates it, and what happens when a boat has nine minutes alongside.
Washington State and British Columbia are further down that road than most, which makes Seattle the right room for the question.
