Zinus has elected Endre Eidsvik as new CEO of the company. His main task will be to develop the Norwegian success story Zinus into the leading global supplier of innovative shore power and charging solutions.

After just a few years of operation, Zinus has become a leading supplier of innovative infrastructure for shore power and charging connections for the shipping industry. Since 2018, the rapid development has given the company a continuously growing order backlog, with deliveries to both Norwegian and European ports. Zinus’ sustainable energy solutions have also aroused global interest, and the company is currently in dialogue with potential customers in Europe, Asia and the USA.

From lifesaving to shore power

To develop Zinus into the leading global supplier, Zinus has now elected Endre Eidsvik as the company’s new CEO. The 58-year-old comes from the position as Vice President Sales in Viking Norsafe Lifesaving Equipment.

“We had many excellent candidates for the leadership position, but we chose Endre due to his long experience of bringing Norwegian technology out to the world. We are happy to have him on the team. Endre will be central to the further growth and development of Zinus,” says Arne Mæland, chairman of the board.

“I look forward to starting my new position. Zinus has developed and delivered pioneering and future-oriented products and solutions that contribute positively to the climate and the environment, and I have great respect for what the company has achieved in a short time. I am happy to have gained the trust and opportunity to develop this solid foundation further, together with skilled employees and solid owners who want to invest in green technology,” says Endre Eidsvik, incoming CEO.

Long experience with internationalization

The 58-year-old Norwegian will start his job at Zinus no later than March 1, 2021. Until then, Finn Inge Langeland will continue in his dual role as Managing director and head of product development – before he, at his own request, sharpens his focus as responsible for product development and production at Zinus.

Endre Eidsvik is from Kvinnherad, Norway, and has spent most of his professional career in the lifeboat companies Schat-Harding, now Palfinger, and Norsafe AS, now owned by Viking Lifesaving Equipment. In this industry, Eidsvik has gained extensive experience from various leading positions within production, technical and sales. He has, among other things, been Executive Vice President of Schat-Harding and Senior Vice President of Norsafe – with responsibility for building and developing after-sales and service as a business area with a global service network and its own service stations.
